Director of the Foreign Language Information Service, Josephine Aspinwall Roche (1886-1976) was educated at Vassar and Columbia University. Before coming to the Service, she was chief probation officer and director of girls' work in the Denver (Colorado) juvenile court, inspector of amusements and policewomen in Denver, and special investigator for the National Consumers' League.
